Plans advance for an initial geothermal project in the Brigham City area and future development across Utah and the Mountain West

BRIGHAM CITY , Utah — Fulcrum Point Holdings, a Hi Tech Solutions affiliate, today announced a memorandum of understanding with Rodatherm Energy Corporation to explore the development of next-generation geothermal energy projects in Utah.

The agreement marks an expansion of Fulcrum Point Holdings’ energy partnerships to include geothermal development alongside its ongoing work in nuclear energy, advanced manufacturing, and workforce development. Fulcrum Point and Rodatherm will initially focus on planning and developing a flagship geothermal project in the Brigham City region, with the potential for a phased development of up to 200 megawatts of generating capacity.

“Utah’s growing energy needs will require multiple sources of reliable and locally produced power,” said Chris Hayter, President of Fulcrum Point Holdings and Co-Founder of Hi Tech Solutions. “This collaboration expands our energy partnerships into geothermal and brings another important technology into the state’s energy ecosystem, which supports Governor Cox’s Operation Gigawatt initiative. By combining Rodatherm’s geothermal expertise with HTS’s engineering, operations, maintenance and workforce capabilities, we can help develop projects that create jobs, strengthen communities and deliver dependable energy for Utah.”

“Utah is fortunate to have a diverse portfolio of energy resources, including significant geothermal potential,” said Joel Ferry, Utah Director of the Department of Natural Resources. “Partnerships like this can help responsibly develop those resources while supporting reliable energy and economic opportunity for communities across the state.”

Rodatherm is a geothermal developer, owner and operator whose proprietary Waterless Geothermal Systems™ technology is designed to support baseload and dispatchable electrical power generation, energy resiliency systems, as well as district heating and cooling systems. The company is pursuing projects throughout the Western United States, especially in Utah and Idaho.

“This collaboration represents a transformational opportunity for Box Elder County and the State of Utah,” said Curtis Cook, President and CEO of Rodatherm Energy Corporation. “By combining Rodatherm’s patented Waterless Geothermal Systems™ technology and Fulcrum’s integrated development platform, we can deliver energy security that supports Utah’s long-term economic growth. Locally, abundant geothermal energy can strengthen business and community resilience, enhance food security through controlled-environment agriculture, and create lasting benefits for future generations”.

Under the agreement, Fulcrum Point and Rodatherm intend to collaboratively lead project development, strategic planning, financing, government and community engagement, and long-term operational planning. Hi Tech Solutions would support plant operations, maintenance and technical services, and help develop the skilled workforce necessary to support the projects. Rodatherm will lead the development of the geothermal resource including project design, permitting, technology deployment and geothermal operations planning.

The companies intend to begin with the commercial deployment of an initial 10-megawatt capacity development in the Brigham City area, with construction currently targeted to begin in late first quarter 2027. They also plan to negotiate a broader strategic development alliance supporting future projects throughout the Mountain West. The companies will continue to engage local leaders, stakeholders, and community members throughout each stage of the evaluation and development process for feedback and review.

This announcement builds on Hi Tech Solutions and Fulcrum Point Holdings’ broader efforts in Brigham City and across the state to develop the workforce, technical expertise and industry capacity needed to support Utah’s growing nuclear and advanced energy ecosystem.
